No.2.4472/30, Reqn.No.251/1, to take such existing fittings
as may be required.
Two "Ross" Patent Muffled Pop Safety Valves of suitable
size are to be fitted.
The Regulator Valve is to be of the Lockyer Balanced type
as supplied by the A.B.C. Coupler & Engineering Co., Ltd.
The whistle stand, seat and whistles are to be the same
as shown on Drg. No. Z.4472/66, Regn.No. 251/1, and the
whistle arrangement is to be as shown on Drg. No.Z.4472/65,
Reqn. No. 251/1.
The glass gauge cocks, mechanical lubricator warming cock,
blow-off cock, pressure gauge cocks, pressure gauges, blower
valves etc. are to be the same as shown on Drg.No.Z.4472/67,
Reqn. No.251/1. The water gauges are to be mounted in such
a position that with the water level 5" above the highest
point of the crown sheet, glass of water is shown in the
gauge.
12. Firedoor and Gear. The Franklin automatic firedoor, butterfly
type No. 8 right-hand, manufactured by the Franklin Railway Supply Co., New York, and as shown on Drg.No.2.4472/22, Regn.
No. 251/1, is to be fitted on these engines.
13. Tubes and Flues. The boilers are to be fitted with solid
drawn steel tubes, 2a outside diameter x 11 W.G. thick and
solid drawn steel flues 54" dia. x 8 W.G. thick, of approved
manufacture.
The tubes are to be beaded over at the firebox tube plate,
steel ferrules are not required. The flues are to be grooved
at the firebox end, expanded into the copper tube plate and
beaded over. In the smokebox, the tubes are to be left
projecting 4" and the flues 3/8".
